Patch notes
Version 0.2.2 patch notes
The first open beta version
A new title menu
- The title menu is simpler now. It has six clear rows: CONTINUE, WORLDS, PLAY WITH FRIENDS, GLOBAL BOX, SETTINGS and QUIT. The world you're about to play sits beside them.
- CONTINUE goes straight into that world. If you have no world yet it says NEW ADVENTURE, and if you started making a trainer but didn't finish, it says FINISH TRAINER.
- WORLDS shows how many worlds you have. PLAY WITH FRIENDS shows INVITE when a friend has invited you, and it opens straight on Play with friends.
- LEFT and RIGHT on the title still switch to another world, now in the same order as the WORLDS list.
- A world nobody named is called after its trainer (for example "Kai's World", even if the name was typed in capitals).
- Every button on the title works with the mouse too.
- The world's card stays in the same place as you move between the title's pages.
- When you're signed out, the Open my world button on the PLAY WITH FRIENDS page says "Sign in", because that's what it does first.
The WORLDS list
- WORLDS is one list of all your worlds, the one you saved last at the top, a bit like Minecraft. Each row shows the world's lead Pokémon, its trainer, badges, play time and when you last saved it, with tags such as NUZLOCKE, RANDOM, MODERN or FRIEND'S.
- The card beside the list shows the trainer, play time, badges, place, when you last played, the kind of adventure (Standard, Nuzlocke or Duallocke) and the team. A world with no Pokémon yet says so.
- Pick a world, then press PLAY, FRIENDS, RENAME or DELETE. DELETE is red, so you can't mistake it for the others.
- New: RENAME gives a world a new name. Its adventure stays just as it is.
- NEW WORLD at the bottom of the list starts a new world, to play alone or with friends.
- The naming page shows how many letters you've used (up to 24) and has NEXT (or SAVE) and BACK buttons you can click.
- Nothing was taken away. Switching worlds, deleting (it still asks twice), playing with friends, the Global Box, Settings and Quit are all still there.
- A world saved before 0.2.2 shows a simple card until you play it once.
- The list can show up to 32 worlds (it was 16).
Languages
- The new title, the WORLDS list and the naming page are translated into all 21 languages.
- So are the pause menu's SUPPORT button, the Bag's FIND search, the LEVEL UP setting (SHOW or SKIP) and the randomizer's question before a world starts. These showed in English before.
- In other languages, the title's longer help lines, the badge counts in the WORLDS list, world names like "Kai's World", a new world's rules summary and the list of settings you changed now show in your language instead of English.
- In Japanese, a few labels (such as the game version line) got back the space they were missing.
Fixes
- Only the button you're on lights up blue. Before, two buttons could look chosen at once.
- The help lines now point to the right place for playing with friends: pause menu, MULTIPLAYER, then Play with friends. They used to say HOST, which no longer exists.
- In a new world's settings, the last group is now called HOW TO BEGIN instead of a second THE JOURNEY.
- In a new world's lobby, your place says "You" (and a friend's says "A friend") instead of PLAYER 1 twice.
- The pause menu's Play picture no longer shows a question mark floating on its own when there's no friend's trainer to draw.
- The help text at the bottom of the pause menu, the Challenge page and the PLAY WITH FRIENDS page no longer squeezes its first line into half the box.
- When several messages arrive at once on the map, none of them gets lost any more.
- Small tidy-ups: the moon on the title sits in open sky instead of peeking between the cards, the PLAY WITH FRIENDS page's headings are in capitals like every other card, its Online box is shorter, and its three buttons line up in one column when the page is narrow.
Gifts (not handed out yet)
- Open beta gifts are on the way:
- a goody box for every player: 20 Poké Balls, 20 Quick Balls, 5 Rare Candies and an Egg with three perfect IVs
- the closed beta's gifts one more time, for closed-beta players
- an Infinite Ball for everyone who reacted with the Snivy emoji.
- Each gift can be claimed once per Discord account.
- Nobody gets them yet. With the next update they'll arrive in your RiftPad's MAIL, and you press CLAIM to take each one. The wiki's gift guide shows how.
- The Infinite Ball is a Distortion World ball. It never runs out while it lasts and catches like a Great Ball. It fades 24 hours after you claim it.
- Its Bag picture is its own: a dark ball with stars and a gold infinity sign. In battle it flies and shakes like a Dusk Ball, and a Pokémon caught with it keeps a Dusk Ball.
- A Pokémon can hold it, and it can go to another world through the Box. It can't be sold.
- Its 24 hours end at the same moment in every world, and setting your PC's clock back doesn't give it more time. When the time is up, it leaves your Bag, team and Boxes with a message.
