Patch notes
Version 0.2.0 patch notes
Mega Evolution is here
- If you're in a MODERN POKéMON world there's 82 Mega Stones hidden around Sinnoh now, plus the Key Stone you need to actually use them.
- The Key Stone comes with a Stone Log that shows every stone, the ones you've got and the place the rest are hiding in
- You can finally search your Bag. Hit FIND next to SORT (or just press C) and type a few letters, it checks item names and TM moves, and any pocket with a match gets a little gold dot
- There's a bunch of new randomizer switches too, you can randomize the briefcase starters or pick the three yourself with STARTERS: CHOOSE, get random Gym TMs, random trade Pokémon and tutor moves, and there's Evolve Every Level for anyone who wants pure chaos
- MODERN POKéMON worlds also have the newer games' learnsets and abilities.
- And a LOT of crash fixes, the big ones were weather borders, wild double battles, Fantina's room and the Battle Factory
Some tips for the Mega hunt
- Megas are only in MODERN POKéMON worlds, Classic plays the same as always
- Grab the Key Stone first cuz the stones won't show up until you have it. The Elder in Celestic Town gives it to you after Galactic clears out of the cave, right when she gives you Surf. If your save is already past that just go talk to her in her house on the north side of town
- The stones show up as a little twinkle on the ground, walk up and press A. I hid them in dead ends and far corners on purpose so you're gonna have to wander off the path a bit. The Dowsing Machine on your Pokétch picks them up too
- Some only come out at night, a few wait until after the Hall of Fame, and Heatranite is at Stark Mountain once you've dealt with Heatran
- If you get stuck open your Bag, pick the Key Stone and choose STONE LOG. It tells you which place each missing stone is in, not the exact tile tho, that'd be too easy
- Bag full? The stone just stays put so you can come back for it
- In battle give your Pokémon its stone to hold, then tap the Key Stone button between your moves before you pick one. You get one Mega per battle like in the games.
- Heads up, the legendary stones (Mewtwo, Latias, Latios, Darkrai, Zygarde, Diancie, Magearna, Zeraora) and Floette's aren't in this version, they will come in the future.
Bug Fixes
- The Underground crashed when your follower hopped: turning to it, swapping places, catching up, or getting pushed by a trap (seven players hit this).
- Leaving the Underground by warping could crash the game.
- Crash when entering Fantina's room in Hearthome.
- A save made inside Fantina's room could leave you stuck; now you can walk out.
- Three crashes on the way to the Duo battle against Dragon Tamer Patrick.
- The Battle Factory crashed when swapping Pokémon.
- Crash when crossing weather borders, like from rain into clear weather.
- Wild double battles could crash.
- Battle crash in the trainer battle intro.
- Battle crash when a Poké Ball opens.
- Crashes in the animations of 27 moves.
- Crashes when 16 different move effects finished.
- Crash in a battle Pokémon's picture.
- Walking into grass before you had a Pokémon able to fight crashed the game; now no wild Pokémon show up until you have one.
- Fishing in co-op could crash, and a friend now only takes the rod while standing still.
- Contests could crash during the dance and judging.
Freezes and getting stuck
- The Wi-Fi Club froze; now it shows the normal connection error and asks if you want to connect again.
- Story Rally: a friend stuck on the way gets let go after 2 minutes instead of holding everyone up.
- Inverna City's way home is always open now.
- Leaving the Union Room puts you back in the Pokémon Center you came from, not Jubilife.
- Coming back from the rift brings the map back the way you left it (Saturn and the invisible stones).
Other fixes
- Gift Eggs aren't lost anymore if the game closes before you save.
- A follower you put away stays walk-through.
- A trainer you beat together with a friend now runs that place's after-battle scene.
- A legendary kept on another PC, or after a lost file, no longer counts as illegal.
- A legendary's replacement from a run's Global Box gets an ability its world allows, so it can be traded.
- Long names like MEOWSCARADA and CRABOMINABLE fit now, and old saves show the full name.
- The Speedrunner speed-up sign no longer shows garbled text.
- Clicks on the title menu don't go through to the wrong screen anymore.
- The game starts fine from a folder with a non-English name.
- Crash reports now say where the game stopped, so I can fix crashes I can't make happen on my pc.
